Students in grades 6-8 wrote essays for the Veterans of Foreign Wars on “The America I Believe In.” The winners were chosen at the local post and advanced to the district level; that winner will advance to state level, where their essays will be scored and advance to the national level.
The middle school essay contest is the “Patriot’s Pen,” open to students in grades 6-8. This year’s theme is “What Patriotism Means to Me.” Essay should be between 300 and 400.
